Bangladesh Test Match has Great Outcome

September 4, 2017

The kind of comments the Bangladesh camp is making ahead of the start of the test series, it has surprised the visiting skipper Steve Smith.

A couple of Bangladeshis have come out and said that not only are they looking to win the series, they are actually looking to clean-sweep the Kangaroos.

As per Smith, Bangladesh’s overall test record so far is not great. Their winning percentage out of all the test matches they have played in their history is just 9. So for them to be talking about a clean sweep is really audacious.

But, he can see where they are coming from. The fact is that this is a home series for them and they have felt pretty comfortable playing at home in the recent times and have been able to have some good results against some good teams and they are backing themselves to have a good time against Australia as well in conditions which they know pretty well.

DHAKA PREMIER LEAGUE RESUMES

June 4, 2017

The Dhaka Premier League is set to resume after the three day break for Pahela Baishakh festivities.

Abahani would play Partex Sporting Club with Mahmudullah leading them; Brothers Union would face off with Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, while Legends of Rupganj would play Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi with Mushfiqur Rahim and Abdur Razzak going head to head. The second round of the league promises excitement.

Partex Sporting were disappointing in their last game and Abahani would be hoping to ride on their good run to get a victory. They defeated Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samiti though it was a keen contested one. Abahani had lost three wickets only for Mahmudullah and Mosaddek Hossain to jointly help them recover. Hossain’s century, which is now regular, sealed victory for them.

Partex Sporting, who are playing in the DPL for the first time, are still struggling with the demands of playing at the top level. Against Abahani, they would rely on first class games’ star and new addition Yashpal Singh. The foreigner scored a half century in the last match but he would face tougher opposition.

Mustafizur Rahman may win Purple Cap soon in IPL

August 4, 2016

The Bangladeshi left arm medium pacer Mustafizur Rahman doesn’t have the purple cap in the Indian Premier League at the moment, nor is he in top 5 in the wicket taking list, but, there is no bowler in the whole tournament that has been as impactful as him.

He bowls the 19th over for Hyderabad and the 19th over is the most important in tight games, even more than the 20th because it’s an over which sets the game up and as a team, you don’t want the momentum to go against you by leaking runs in that over.

But, rarely does Mustafizur go for more than ten runs in the 19th over and he always ensures the bowler coming on to bowl the last over has lesser pressure on him than the batsman.

And not only the penultimate over, Mustafizur is called upon by David warner whenever Hyderabad is under pressure, at any stage.

Warner doesn’t start the bowling with him, but, if there is hitting from the opposition early on, Mustafizur is his banker and the leftie almost always produces a tight over, giving away just 3 or 4 runs.

An over like that does not always find space in the highlights package because it is a sort of non-event. But, impact wise, any such over is huge.
You see the economy of Mustafizur, it is not even 7 in the whole tournament.
